The whole person, restored.
Spirit, soul, and body are not three approaches we choose between. They are three spheres of the one human person, and the BRI Method refuses to restore one while ignoring the other two.
Spirit
The spirit governs.
Where communion with God happens and revelation lands. Indwelt and led by the Holy Spirit, the spirit governs — not controls — the mind through submission and renewal. Identity here is received, not generated.
Soul
The mind is renewed.
Mind, will, emotion, memory — the experiential self, and the battleground. It must be renewed (Rom. 12:2), set on the things of the Spirit (Rom. 8:5-6), and brought into captivity to Christ (2 Cor. 10:5). The inner life is reordered against the mind of Christ.
Body
The body yields.
The physical substrate, including brain and nervous system — the vessel that yields. Borrowed and bought at a price (1 Cor. 6:19-20). The body is the witness stand, not the site of cure: it reports the felt experience of freedom or bondage; it does not lead.
The spirit governs · the mind is renewed · the body yields.
The Joseph Principle.
What the enemy meant for harm is the very ground from which the Lord forges new capacity. The pit, the prison, and Potiphar's house built the man who could govern Egypt (Gen. 50:20). Capacity is not pre-existing and recovered — it is forged through the walking-through. The testimony is the credential.
The Two-Authority Transfer.
What the Method does at the mechanism level: the faculty does not change — its governance does. The same mind, will, and body come under a different authority. "Watching to catch is exhausting; watching to govern is rest."
The body is the witness, not the cure.
Somatic and nervous-system work are servants, not sources. The body is taught to read what it is reporting and trained to receive truth as a felt experience — confirming the freedom the spirit and soul produced upstream. The body reports; it does not lead.
Restoration, not recovery.
The Method does not restore a previous self or return a prior capacity. There is no broken-to-whole arc to retrace. Through the walking-through, a new capacity is forged and the whole person is integrated to God-given order.
Restoration Anthropology.
The Method is grounded in a theological discipline called Restoration Anthropology — the study of how the human person is restored, spirit, soul, and body, to the integrated image of God after rupture or formational injury, taking the science of the body seriously without ever letting it become the authority.
It positions against trauma-as-identity and self-as-lord — not against the body or trauma awareness. Trauma physiology, attachment science, and moral-development research operate as instruments under the lordship of Christ, never as competing authorities. Its full form is carried by the applications that need it.
The Method, brought to bear.
Its first application carries the Method into the Christ-centered marriage in betrayal — as its own standalone work.
